Leighton Flowers, Kristi Burke & Romans 9
Atheist Kristi Burke says that understanding Romans chapter nine is what started her deconstruction journey. But what if that understanding of Romans nine is at odds with what the author intended. Christian @Soteriology101 has written, debated and spoken extensively on this specific passage.

Atheist: Christianity Doesn't Have ANY Answers, Not Even Bad Ones
Well known atheist, Aron Ra, was kind enough to take some time to answer my ten questions for atheists from a few years ago. I appreciate his willingness to give us his thoughts. In this video I react to answers he gave to my first question. Much of his video was devoted to this question. Despite my original intent to react to his answers to the entire list, this video was long enough that I decided to give this one its own video. I plan to cover his answers to the rest of the list in a later video.

DEBATE: Christian God - Enough Evidence?
Chris Date debates Kevin O’Connor on the proposition, “There is not sufficient reason to justify belief in the God of Christian Theism.” O’Connor will take the affirmative position, and Date will argue that there actually is sufficient evidence to believe. Both of these debators are known for their humility, and cordiality. Both are also very skilled debators. Join us for this exciting event!

Church Hurt, Deconstruction & Apologetics (w/ @TheChurchSplit )
Will Hess (host of @TheChurchSplit & Minister of Students at @Onelife.network ) has experienced the negative expressions of fundamentalism from the pew & the pulpit. He’s housed those he considered neglected in his own home. He’s worked to help others who have been hurt in church, and yet . . . he has debated progressive Christians as well. Why is Will an atheist today, when others walked away? Find out with us on this episode of Trinity Radio.

Does Heresy Mean What You Think?
The accusation of “heresy” is made daily on social media as theology geeks from different Christian denominational or doctrinal persuasions debate. It’s clear that the one who uses it is claiming that another person is wrong in some deeply important (perhaps even dangerous) way. But what does heresy mean? In this episode, we’ll talk to Warren Mcgrew, who has plenty of thoughts on the subject as someone who is commonly referred to as a heretic. Here’s a little about Warren, in his own words: I’m a theology geek, who enjoys studying the Bible and Church history - exploring the origins of various beliefs and considering their validity in light of Scripture. I am active in producing content and sharing what I've learned; often found engaging in both formal and informal theological debate. I strive to temper my zeal for the truth in wisdom and love, proclaiming and demonstrating the love of God to others.”

Did God Make You A Soul? YES! (W/ Dr. Joshua Farris)
Dr. Joshua Farris, a celebrated academic with dozens of published articles, discusses the creation of the self, consciousness, artificial intelligence, and reasons that God is the best explanation for the soul.
He lays it all out in his new book, “The Creation of Self,” linked below. From the back cover of the book: Situated in broader science-and-religion discussions, The Creation of Self is the first book-length defense of a creationist view of persons as souls. This book therefore serves as both a novel argument for God's creation of selves and as a critique of contemporary materialist and emergent-self alternatives, critically examining naturalistic views that argue for a regular, law-like process behind the emergence of personhood. Author Joshua Farris argues on the assumption that persons are fundamentally unique individuals that look more like singularities of nature, rather than material products grounded in regularity or predictability from past events. By extending the basic intuition that we are unique and mysterious individuals, Farris develops a sophisticated analytic defense of the soul that requires a sufficient explanation not found in nature but made by a Creator who has intentions and the power to bring about novel entities in the world. The Creation of Self gives philosophers, theologians, and the lay intellectual grounding for thinking about persons as religious beings. It aims to help readers understand why recent scientifically motivated objections to the soul are unsuccessful, and why we must consider a religious conception of persons as souls as a common starting point.

Bad Reasons to Leave Christianity + Q&A
DISCLAIMER: People leave Christianity for a number of reasons, and it’s usually not even because of just one thing for any particular person. When we make decisions, there are good reasons and bad reasons, intellectually speaking. In this video we’ll be reacting to what we think are bad reasons to reject Christianity, but Christian viewers should respect that while not all reasons strike us as intellectually defensible, all reasons are meaningful to the individual who made the decision, and Christians should remember that when lovingly interacting with unbelievers.

Not 100% Sure About Christianity? Do this! - w/ @lizjackson111
What if the evidence and arguments for Christianity still leave you uncertain. Dr. Liz Jackson joins me to discuss why it’s smart to wager that Christianity is true. This might be just what you need.
Dr. Jackson’s Channel: / @lizjackson111
Article on wager arguments from Dr. Jackson: https://philpapers.org/rec/JACPAF?fbc...
Below is Dr. Jackson’s bio in her own words. I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Previously, I was a Research Fellow in the School of Philosophy at Australian National University. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, and my BA in philosophy at Kansas State University. My primary research is in epistemology, much of it falling at the intersection between formal and traditional epistemology. Recently, my research has focused on the relationship between belief and credence. I defend and explore implications of dualism about belief and credence. Dualism is the view that we have both beliefs and credences, and neither attitude is reducible to the other. My interests in epistemology also include (defending) epistemic permissivism, (arguing against) pragmatic and moral encroachment, and other issues in social epistemology (e.g. disagreement, epistemic paternalism). My secondary research interests are in philosophy of mind, specifically the nature of belief, and philosophy of religion, specifically Pascal’s Wager and the nature of faith. I have further interest in decision theory, ethics and normativity, and metaphysics. My non-philosophical interests include sports (especially basketball), traveling, avocados, coffee, weight lifting, cooking, and podcasts.
