One scholar has emerged over the past several years with a "revolutionary" explanation. Namely, that Genesis 1 doesn't describe God "making" anything. 

Many treat the value of the church no differently than they treat the dollar value menu at McDonald's. They give the same reasons for avoiding the church that they give for avoiding the golden arches. In this way, many in our culture have placed the most important, majestic and glorious earthly organization on par with a place that is known for fries and clowns.

In order to have intrinsic meaning or purpose that is REAL a thing needs a designer. A hammer, for example, does not decide to be a hammer. Rather an inventor crafted neutral objects together and then declared the purpose of the new creation. It is a hammer. It is meant to put nail into boards. I am a preacher. In order for that purpose to be real I need an inventor. I needed someone to take some flesh and bone and determine that I would be used for the preaching of the gospel and the defense of the Christian faith. I have purpose for the same reason the hammer does. Namely, an inventor had a purpose in mind. 

I became ridiculously productive. I was a checklist-dominating master. More was accomplished during my time serving in that position than I had done in the previous five years. The question that often occurred to me was, “What on earth happened to transform my thinking from apathy to passion in less than a day?” I have determined that there were three simple principles. For these principles to exist, it may seem like the stars need to align, but once they are in place no one needs to motivate you. You will also become a checklist-dominating master of productivity.

The latest atheist attention grab is taking place in the south. Billboards will be placed in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee, St. Louis, Missouri and Fort Smith, Arkansas with a picture of a girl writing her annual letter to Santa Claus pleading, "Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is to skip church!
